I spent the afternoon scouring thrift stores for something special. I was on the hunt for some amazing vintage, rock band t-shirts. I’ve been dreaming about rocking a rad Kiss t-shirt with my sweet new Nike Dunk Sky High Sneakers. I didn’t have much luck at my first two stops but turns out the third stop was a charm. I scored an awesome authentic MOSCHINO t-shirt for $1.50. A gorgeous olive-green leather (GAP) skirt for $3.50. And last but not least, a fun pair of Hawaiian print VANS for $5.50. Bringing my grand total to $10.50. I’m so pumped over all my thrift-scores today! My favorite is probably the MOSCHINO t-shirt. This t-shirt has date night written all over it. Heeeeeyyyyyyyy……
Hey hey hey! I scored this rad vintage kimono-style jacket in L.A. a couple of weekends ago. I was on my way to take a new friend (Yolonda - DESIGNroundup) to the airport. I spotted the jacket from the road at a garage sale. The vibrant bold colors were peeking out from behind a faux fur jacket. I had no plans of stopping but I had to have this little gem. Paying a mere $12 for the jacket made it even more special. The only thing better than a deal is an unexpected deal. What vintage finds have you found this week?

The boyfriend blazer has been a HOT trend for the past 2 years. I’ve been craving this look but, can’t bring myself to the purchase the re-designed and over priced blazers that the department stores are carrying. I feel this look is better achieved with a vintage blazer. This past weekend I found a black, vintage, Bill Burns boyfriend blazer at the Goodwill! The blazer was in brand new condition and I only paid $7.50 for it. This look is so fabulous you can pair your boyfriend blazer with skirts, leggings, dresses, and skinny jeans it will go with just about anything in your closet. Tips for shopping for the perfect BFB (boyfriend blazer) at second hand shops. Go up 1 size, make sure the blazer hits below your hips, and is fitted through the sleeves. Solid colors are the best but, if you’re feeling risky a tweed BFB would be pretty awesome! The object is to create a very chic and relaxed look. You don’t want to look like your five years old playing dress up in your Grandpa’s clothes.
I'm letting you in on a HUGE secret, my 2 favorite thrift stores in the world! Yes, I said it in the world! I've shopped in thrift stores in Paris, Italy, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Miami….the list could go on and on. I must give this disclamier that Paris and New York have the MOST beautiful garments in their second hand stores the only down fall is the price is so high you might as well purchase it brand new. I usually do a little skip when i go into Thrift Town in San Francisco and Bargain World in Tacoma, Wa. Both stores carry an obscene amount of name brand labels, vintage dresses and the prices are extremely low! How low you may ask…. well try $6 for a gorgeous burgundy leather jacket! Oh, here's one more perk if your in the military you get 10% off your purchase at Bargain World. HAPPY HUNTING!!!!
