Mirror Mirror: H&M Sunglasses

5 May

“Because I’m addicted” would be a more appropriate title for this post. I’m obsessed. O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D! Obsessed, with mirror sunglasses. I generally spend waaaay too much money on designer sunglasses, only to have them break or lose them. This year I decided to go the less expensive route and pick up some lovely sunnies I spotted at H&M. I love them all, they’re similar in style but not in attitude. The total for my grand collection of sunnies - set me back only $35.00 for all five pair! Now that’s a deal! Check out your local H&M for the best selection on trendy and fun sunglasses for the summer. Which pair are your favorite?

Dream Leather Bracelet

17 Apr

Sometimes we need a bit of positive affirmation in life. Like this bracelet I picked up in L.A. last weekend. Everytime I wear it I’m reminded that my dreams are still attainable. All it takes is focus, belief, and trust. Your faith has the power to transfer your dreams into reality. I thank God for the privilege to dream! What are you dreaming about these days?

Lady Sneakerhead: My ‘Nike Dunk Sky High’ Shoe Collection

10 Apr

I’ve developed a serious affinity for ‘Nike Dunk Sky High’ sneakers. The concealed wedge for height. The Nike comfort. The dope style. It’s the perfect sneaker that goes with just about everything in my closet. I love to be comfortable while looking fly, so these kicks are just what the fashion doctor order. I’m a ‘lady sneakerhead’ and proud of it!

Turning 35 with NO fear

6 Feb

35 and loving it!!! This past Sunday was my 35th birthday! Whoo! Which according to a few of my married friends, 35 marks the last year before I’ll be “able” to conceive a child. Apparently, it’s not a great idea to have children after the age of 36 (something recommended by a group of married women who think they “know” more….blah…blah…blah). So, that leaves me with 12 months to find a man, date him, marry him, and get pregnant. Phew! I’m exhausted just thinking about it. Good thing I’m stepping up my game in the overachiever department. It just might be possible. All joking aside, I’m sure my sweet married friends didn’t mean any harm when they made the silly statement. I’m learning as I get older to not take things so personal, it’s a daily battle but one I’m conquering in small steps. I would rather focus on the time that has been given to me NOW. I’m 35, single, have a wonderful family, friends, and healthy positive outlook on life. I run a fashion blog that I’m in love with. I’ve been dedicated to my blog for the past 2.5 years and have met some spectacular people along the way. I have wonderful readers, that ask me daily fashion and DIY questions. I’ve met Sara Burton and Zac Posen all within a 2 week time span. I’ve travelled to Paris, Rome, Bali, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, and 25 states out of 50 U.S. states. I’ve worked for some major fashion players in the fashion industry. I witnessed a miracle last year with my father receiving a new kidney. I have an awesome relationship with my twin niece and nephew. Shoot! I think my life is pretty AH-mazing! There will ALWAYS be something I’m looking forward to and that’s a good thing, since it reminds me that I’m alive and well.

It is true that I want to be married and have children and maybe the clock is ticking away on that. While I wait for that dream to be fulfilled, I will continue to put my trust in God who has always been faithful to me. Trusting Him has never failed me. A husband and children will happen for me when its suppose to and not a minute sooner. In the mean time, I will continue to build my insanely AH-mazing collection of designer handbags! Heyyy!

Best Sushi Ever

25 Jan

I’m a bit of sushi snob since I hail of Seattle, Wa. If any of you have ever had seafood in Seattle then you know exactly what I’m talking about. The Seafood in Seattle is unmatched when it comes to freshness, selection, and taste. I started eating sushi when I was in high school and I haven’t looked back. It’s one of my go- to-meals. I’ve had some of the best sushi in the world (or at least I think so), Nobu in NYC, Ozumo in San Francisco, Hawaii, and Asia. Last night I met up with one of my favorite friends for dinner. I had a hankering from some sushi and wasn’t sure where to go, since we were meeting up in the East Bay. I checked out Yelp and found Amakara in Dublin, CA. The reviews were great and I thought I would give it a try. Boy, was my mouth and tummy happy with my decision. The sushi was AH-mazing! The fish was so fresh. It tasted like it was just caught and fillet 10 minutes prior to serving it. My favorite was the Poke Salad and the Salmon Nigiri but I loved EVERYTHING I ordered. The Poke salad has Tuna, seaweed salad, cucumber, red onion, furikake, sesame oil & quail egg yolk. It’s insanely delicious! I’m still dreaming about the Poke Salad. YUM! Double YUM!

Animal Pack: Yang Du “Noah’s Ark” Collection

18 Jan

I’m a bit obsessed with Yang Du’s – owl backpack. First reason for obsession – it’s purple. Purple is my FAVORITE color. Second reason – it’s freaking cute. Third reason for obsession. Does there need to be a “third reason” other than it’s AWESOME!  I heart owls and when you combine them with the color purple and design a cute little backpack all in the name of fashion. Well, count me in! I just wish the sticker price wasn’t so high. These babies will set you back $1000 big ones.

Etsy Spotlight: Papelle (Halloween Greeting Cards)

1 Oct

Have I told you all how much I LOVE greeting cards? I really love them! I love sending them, I love getting them, I love reading them, sometimes I like to read other people’s card. Ok, I’m joking about reading other people’s card – I’m not nosey. Well, I’m only nosey when it comes to my siblings. Hey, old habits are hard to break. Moving on……

Let me introduce to you Papelle, a beautifully curated card shop on Etsy. These unique and fun cards are designed by one seriously talented woman. I adore the color selection and the playful fonts. The Card Designer is amazing and can also whip up some really beatuiful custom invitations. Now, that should peak the interest of anyone who’s newly engaged folks. Papelle’s prices are so reasonable, almost too resonable. They start at $1.50 per card.  When’s the last time you brought a super cute quality greeting card for a $1.50! I’m ordering the “ghost card” for Halloween! BOO!

PS1 Proenza Schouler Messenger Bag: My Dream Bag

30 Dec

I see this amazing piece of leather in my future come 2012! I know…I know…you've all seen this luscious satchel all over the blogosphere but its so yummy! My only dilemma is paying for the crazy price of the bag. At $2000 that's more than I paid for my vintage Chanel bag.  Hmmm……

Slipper Gate: The Velvet Wonder

6 Dec

There are a particular pair of velvet Men’s slippers at Saks 5th Avenue that I may or may not have visited several times last week. I also may or may not have been caught petting these velvet little wonders in the store. Its possible that I might have posted pictures of these same slippers on my fridge with a caption that reads, “we shall be together soon”.  I can’t help myself! I’m a girl obsessed and I NEED those slippers! ”Smoking slippers” are taking over the feet of many Men and Women this fall and I like it. The look is so refreshing, it’s a sure fire way to take your casual outfit from day to night. I hope my feet will be partaking in this trend very soon. These are definitely going on my Christmas list!

My ASOS Obsession

30 Nov

I am very much a creature of habit! Case in point……..

Every morning I have a cup of tea, adding cream first and then the tea.

I will reheat 2 slices of leftover pizza in the oven, just so the crust will be nice and crispy.

I always say "I love you" before ending a conversation with a loved one.

I laugh at least 15 times a day.

I put extra butter on my popcorn at the movie theater. So much extra butter that my friends are embarrassed to be seen with me, when I'm standing at the butter machine, pressing that little red button, while the fluorescent yellow liquid pours into my bag. YUM!

None of these random tidbits have anything to do with my ASOS Obsession. Other than the fact that I browse the UK based website several times a week but never pull the trigger. I put many lovely things in my shopping cart and then hit "save shopping cart". You see ASOS has a sale on their website every 2 days or so. It never fails, every time I get ready to order something – a sale has just ended or one is about to start. I've begun to save my favorite items in my shopping cart and wait for an email that their having a sale. One of these days I will actually follow through and purchase something from ASOS. I'm hoping my purchase will include one or all of these delicious items below.
